Bringing Together Buffalo's Best Blues & People
Welcome to the Nuclear Blue Web Site

Image

Formed in summer 2005 the band has gone from “Nuclear Who?” to Nuclear Blue.

Originally a three piece power trio the band has recently added a harp player to spice things up and get to the next level.  They are all members of the Blues Society of Western New York.

Nuclear Blue plays homage to the guitar heavy greats such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Muddy Waters and Eric Johnson as well as others.

This is done with stunning tonal authenticity. Not just a “guitar band” you will catch them playing songs from some of the great classic writers like Bob Dylan, The Stones, and Buffalo Springfield to name a few.

The band also plays their original music which quite often gets the biggest response.

In November 2006, Nuclear Blue proudly released its first CD, “The Last Days of Free Speech."  Recorded at Starfields Recording Studios in Buffalo, NY and California Road Studios in Orchard Park, NY.  This ten song disk showcases the band's strong songwriting abilities and chemistry.  Here is a review by Bob Silvestri of The Best of Western New York.com.

Nuclear Blue has released a new CD of bluesy ballsy rockers titled The Last Days of Free Speech. Mixing a little of The Band with some early ZZ Top and a loud power trio sound they rock out on "Saving Up For A Stamp" and the title cut "The Last days of Free Speech". They churn out covers of Hendrix's "Hey Joe and Dylan's "Knockin' on Heavens Door". They really shine on the blues vamp "Hurt Me Bad", the big sounding "Opinion" and the slow blues smoker "Don't Know What Top Do".

Guitarist /Vocalist - Dan Galanti is clearly a tone junkie and enjoys making his Strat scream, cry and moan with precision. Vocals are in the pocket and sung from the heart.

Drummer - Eric Malinowski is a solid old school drummer that can keep it together and interesting all on his own.

Bassist - Corbett Cockcroft is pure raw energy. Melodically pounding his bass down to a nub.

Harp player - Tom Rauen adds icing to the cake. Strong and melodic he can wail over top or hang back with taste to fill things up nicely.

Nuclear Blues reputation as: “a band that draws them in and leaves fans happy” Is hard earned. You can find them laying it down somewhere in their hometown of Buffalo NY just about every week.
